Bombs bursting in air...

Where else would we celebrate our country's independence, but in good 'ole, Independence, Oregon!? We watched the parade, of course. Natalie was much more into the candy this year, and Grandpa Ray improved the engineering of the targets/collection bags, so basically she scored enough candy to last her until at least Halloween.
Not a ham at all, is she?

Waitin' for more candy with cousin Chloe...

Wishin' he had some teeth so he could enjoy a Tootsie Roll or something from Sissy's bag...

Waving to the horses...

Then of course, we headed back home so the sugar-laden kiddo could sleep off the candy and hopefully make it to fireworks time... After a BBQ feast and some playing with cousin Kendra, we got bundled up and headed to the waterfront with about 10 million other people.

Daddy and Jameson patiently waiting for it to get dark...

Where does she get this evil little expression from? Still waiting with Grandpa Ray.

Ah, there they are. Natalie loved them but Jameson slept through most of the show. He did wake up for a bit and seemed less than impressed with the display. "I stayed up late for this?" is what he seemed to be thinking...

Fun weekend celebrating with the fam! Next up? Natalie's third birthday...
