Vocabulary + Other Skills

To accompany a few new pictures of Natalie in her pajamas hanging on the front porch (below), I thought I'd share a few new words in her vocabulary.

whatsat? = what is that? usually accompanied by pointing to whatever she's referring to; repeated over and over until she gets an answer.

nananana = banana

ba ba = bottle

bay bay = baby; refers to her dolly or any stuffed animal

Tickle tickle = still her favorite word by far; usually used in a high pitch tone and/or whisper and accompanied by wiggling fingers

Luckily, although she knows and uses the word "no", it's pretty sparingly (for now).

Other milestones that prove that she's not just another pretty face:
  • Knows where (and points to with 89% accuracy) her hair, her belly, her belly button and her toes (she sometimes confuses "nose" with "toes" but we're working on that).
  • "Natalie, what does a cow say?" Answer resembles "mooo" almost always; on to other barnyard animals sounds.
  • She's finally more interested in books! She likes to turn the pages and hold the book (sometimes upside down, but hey, she's still learning!)
  • She climbs on everything and is very strong! Tonight she wanted something on her bookshelf and pulled herself up with her arms (feet went off the ground!) for a few seconds...
  • She's extremely affectionate; she waves to just about anybody (or anything) and strangers at the grocery store seem to get a kick out of it. She also blows kisses and for extra special people (and yes, her bay bay's and even the dogs), she provides the sweetest sloppy kisses (although I'm starting to wonder when she's going to start closing her mouth!)
  • However, she does sport a temper and often shows off her stubborn side
  • She's learning how to do things (today instead of just putting the capped bottle of nose saline in her mouth like she usually does, she actually mimicked twisting the cap off (guess her days of playing with household cleaners and prescription medication are over!)
xoxo
