This weekend the Yost clan and the Fred clan went camping at East Lake. We had tons of fun, especially little Natalie and Gracie. They had a contest to see which little girl could get the dirtiest--it was a draw.
Natalie loves nature. We were a little nervous about her first camping trip but she did great! It got chilly at night but even that didn't phase her (daddy got her a down sleeping bag just her size and it worked perfectly!). We were so proud of her!

Loved this expression!
Natalie wanted to do everything Gracie did!
What dirt?
We even found Nat-sized trees!

Today we drove up to Paulina Peak where you could see for miles and miles in every direction. The elevation was just shy of 8,000 feet and it couldn't have been a more perfect day. The really cool part was that there were literally thousands and thousands of butterflies (or flutterbies as we call them!) all around us. Of course, I couldn't get any of them to be still for a picture so you'll have to take our word for it (the little spec by my head in the picture below is a butterfly!).

After we left the Fred family at Paulina Peak, Nat, Jeramy and I drove to Paulina Lake Resort. We just happened to stumble upon a BBQ with live music. We had an amazing BBQ chicken lunch and Natalie couldn't stop dancing to the tunes. It was a perfect afternoon!
Shakin' her booty!

Overall, first family camping trip was a success and I hope to have many more like this in the future! The Freds were awesome camping buddies (kudos to Debbie who did it 6-months pregnant and chasing a toddler!)
xoxo
