January updates

It's been a few weeks but here is a quick update on Natalie's January 2009:
Natalie is obsessed with babies right now! She loves to see babies on TV and in books. She points them out and shouts "baby" while we're out and about. And she never goes anywhere without her two baby dolls (shown here). Funny enough, she loves to hang out on the bottom stair and always sits her babies in order from smallest to biggest. If you move one, she'll move it back to the appropriate place. OCD much?

On Daddy's birthday, we had a small party at our house. Natalie loved playing with Gracie, Peyton, Callie and (BABY!) Kellan. Here is Nat and Gracie playing with her new kitchen (pay no attention to the baby on the burner!)

Today we headed to Wanoga Snow Park to play and go sledding in the fresh snow. It was a big hill, but Natalie braved it pretty well. Until she got a face-full of snow on the last run. Whoops.

At the end of the first run. Hey, that was kind of fun!

Natalie's vocabulary is getting to be quite expansive. New words include yellow, purple, Elmo (she has a new favorite Elmo movie that she requests on a daily basis!), Toby (with a long o, and very repetitive, almost chant-like), Emmy, Tanku (thank you), 'lo (hello, as she talks on her phone), cookie, juice, ucky (as in icky), dog, appow (apple), cheers (as she clinks your glass with her cup) and probably a dozen more that I can't think of at the moment. My personal favorite is her word for waffle: awful (but she really does think they're "yummy"!)

In addition to her words, she also uses a her body more and more to communicate. She nods her head yes a lot. It's amazing how much she seems to understand! She loves to give "knuckles" and she learned "chicken wing" from Gracie last weekend (that's elbow to elbow if you didn't know). And she holds out her hands as if to say "I don't know" in response to a question.

Yep, she's done quite a lot of growing just in the past month or two!
xoxo
