Trip to Pendleton

Thursday Natalie and I made our first trip to Pendleton to visit with friends and family. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Ric knew we were coming, but remarkably, kept it a secret from everyone else. It was fun surprising everyone.

Thursday evening when we arrived, Uncle Peter met his niece for the first time. He seemed pretty impressed with her and he's not easily impressed usually! He was excited that her first ever concert attendance was one that he put on at Pendleton's hot spot, the Great Pacific. At GP, I hardly even saw Natalie, because most of the night she was either in her uncle's arms meeting his friends, or in one of her grandparents' arms meeting their friends. She seemed pretty content, even with the loud music (let's hope there isn't permanent damage) and what seemed like all of Pendleton was excited to meet the baby they'd heard so much about!

Later that evening, we visited Natalie's great grandparents. Grandma Vera and Grandpa Gurney were sure surprised to see her and enjoyed examining her long fingers and toes. The next day, we met at Great Uncle Dave's Chevron to meet the rest of the Walters gang, including Aunt Toni, Uncle Dave, cousin Clint, cousin Rod and the rest of the hard-working crew there.

Natalie enjoyed meeting lots of Grandma and Grandpa's friends including Bev and Dan (who had the magic touch with Natalie--she was always so relaxed and content in his arms!).

Overall, it was a very fun (but short!) visit to mommy's hometown. Grandma and Grandpa were sure sad to see her leave and on more than one occasion, I was asked "why don't you guys just move to Pendleton?".

Daddy was sure glad to see us when we got home Saturday night. Natalie was a super traveler and can't wait to go back to P-Town in early October.
